The Armed Forces Classic is a traditional set of games, usually between four ranked College Basketball teams. The games are played at the Stan Sheriff Center on the campus of the University of Hawaii. The games are on Friday, November 11, they will be the first games of the NCAA men’s basketball season. The first game is at 7:00 pm with the number 10 ranked Arizona Wildcats pinned against the number 12 Michigan State Spartans. The second game will be played between the number 3 ranked Kansas Jayhawks facing the tough number 11 ranked, Indiana Hoosiers.
During the preseason the ap preseason top 10 made quite a bit of fans cringe as a common foe but loved the team, Duke is ranked number 1. The top 25 follows as, Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, Villanova (last year’s Champions), Oregon, North Carolina, Xavier, Virginia, Wisconsin, Arizona, Indiana, Michigan State, Louisville, Gonzaga, Purdue, UCLA, Saint Mary’s, Connecticut, Syracuse, Texas, West Virginia, Creighton, Rhode Island, Iowa State, and Maryland. As an avid college basketball fan and Duke Blue Devils fan, I look forward to seeing the season and Duke beat all.
But my input on the top 25 is, I feel like the top 5 is the only accurate spot on the list. I say that because, Duke does have the top recruiting class and some of the top players in the country in Grayson Allen, Amile Jefferson, and Matt Jones. On to Kentucky, Kentucky does have a great team with experience in the NCAA, they also have an okay recruiting group. Kansas on the other hand, I don’t know much about them, but I have heard that their roster has a lot of one and done freshman. Villanova has a team full of return men and a few great freshman, I look forward to seeing what they will do this season. Then, one team that surprised me, Oregon, they are fifth because they have four top 25 players on their roster and quite a few strong players.
