The Butterfly Effect
Happy New Year NEAAAT! I can’t believe that it is already 2017! Only 18 weeks (90 school days) until summer! Time does fly when you’re having fun. Speaking of time flying… have you ever heard of the Butterfly Effect? Well, the Butterfly Effect, also known as “sensitive dependence on initial conditions”, is a concept where small events now can have larger effects in the future. Scientists call it The Butterfly Effect because a man named Edward Lorenz suggested that “ a flap of a butterfly’s wings might ultimately cause a tornado”. This concept is commonly used in writing and literature. It normally ties into the theme of time travel. (more…)
