Tuna Salad

Since it is time travel week, let’s throw back to the seventies when plastic character lunch boxes were huge. Yeah, lunch boxes with creepy My Little Ponies or Care Bears. Let’s explore one of the things that might have been in those lunch boxes: tuna salad. It’s been around since canned tuna was a thing. Did you know the first can of fish was created in 1795? Tuna salad can be a full meal, but if you want to make it more filling just add crackers.

  • 3 cans of tuna in water
  • 1 cup of mayonnaise
  • ¼ of a cup of sweet relish
  • Half a sleeve of Saltines or plain Ritz

Mix well and keep refrigerated. This is good for a sandwich or just with crackers. It is very delish in my opinion. So for #flashbackfriday ask your parents what kind of old lunch box they had, then laugh in your room as not to upset them.
