One for the Ages

The last year that the Chicago cubs won a Major League baseball world series was in 1908. The last time that the cubs went to the World series was in 1945. The Cubs have won two World series pennants, and 17 national league pennants. The Cubs had one of the biggest rebuilding periods; they are also the only team that has had to wait 108 years before returning to the world series.

This year, the Cubs are back in the world series. They are still playing at historic Wrigley Field with the ninth biggest fan base in the MLB. The Cubs are playing against the Cleveland Indians, a team that had a 14 game winning streak after the Cleveland Cavaliers won their first NBA championship.

The Cubs had to go to game six of seven against a National League powerhouse, the Los Angeles Dodgers. The team behind the outstanding pitching by Jake Arrieta, all regular and postseason, is ready for the Indians.

This series was one for the ages. The Cubs have full momentum coming off one of the best seasons of any team in the past ten years. The Indians, on the other hand, I don’t know much about them except for their great connection as a team, they know what to expect at their positions on the field when they play the Cubs. The Indians were an underdog team going into the season and now the underdog has prevailed.

I think that the Cubs will win the series in 5 games and the Indians will bounce back next season. I hope the Cubs win it all because they deserve it more than ever.
